If you have been drinking, the best decision is not to drive. In Illinois, drinking and driving is a serious crime punished with severe criminal penalties.
Driving with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 or higher-roughly the equivalent of three drinks consumed in an hour for an average sized man-can result in a license suspension, fines, and a significant increase in your insurance rates.

At the law offices of Donahue, Sowa & Magana, we understand the potential costs of a DUI conviction and work hard to protect your driving privileges. Contact us today to discuss your drunk driving allegations.

Illinois Drunk Driving Defense Attorneys
In Illinois, you can be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or a combination of the two. Even a first offense must be treated seriously. Although the punishments are not as severe for first-time DUI convictions as they are for multiple DUI convictions, any conviction increases the potential penalties for future convictions. For this reason, we aggressively defend all drunk driving charges.

We challenge every DUI case in court; we understand that a plea bargain that results in a conviction is too high a price. If there is sufficient justification to challenge the stop, the breath test, any field sobriety tests, or other procedural errors, we will use our trial experience to seek an acquittal.

Handling Secretary of State License Reinstatement Hearings
If you have been convicted for drunk driving and your license has been suspended or revoked, we can effectively represent you in the Illinois Secretary of State Driver's License Reinstatement hearings to restore your driving privileges. We understand the factors that the hearing board will consider in such this process, and can help you prepare your request.

I engaged the services of Glenn Sowa on December 2010 on behalf of my 19 year old son. My son was arrested and charged with three class X felonies and because of Illinois mandatory minimum sentencing, my son was looking at potentially a 30 year plus sentence if found guilty of the charges. Glenn Sowa discussed all the details with my son and we also enlisted the services of a private investigator to look into other aspects of my son's case. The final outcome of the case was that one of the charges was dropped and a second charge was reduced and a plea deal for 7 years of which my son will only serve 3 and 1/2 years. Glenn Sowa is well known by all prosecutors and well respected by associates within the defense attorney arena and in the counties that he works within. He is a wealth of knowledge and is quick to respond via phone or email at anytime and extremely tech savvy. He has an attention to detail and will discuss all possible options with his clients. Mr. Sowa is of impeccable character and I would highly recommend his services for anyone facing an criminal charges.

Mr. Sowa has extensive experience in the defense of felonies and misdemeanors, including murder, armed robbery, aggravated criminal sexual assault, controlled substances, DUI, and other offenses.
