We represent employers and insurance companies in all aspects of Pennsylvania workers' compensation:

-Litigation - We handle all aspects of a case from pre-trial evaluation and budgeting through Decision by the Workers' Compensation Judge. In between, we are experienced at all phases of litigation, including Discovery, settlement negotiations, depositions, and drafting briefs.
-Appellate Process - When necessary, we handle all aspects of the appellate process, including filing appeals, drafting briefs and motions, and conducting oral argument. We have successfully won appeals before the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board, Commonwealth Court, and Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Peter Del Collo is the Managing Partner of the Firm and has continued in that role since the Firm's organization in 1989. He is a trial lawyer with more than 30 years experience and has concentrated his practice in personal injury, commercial and construction defect litigation. His practice has been focused in the State and Federal courts of Eastern Pennsylvania.

Mr. Del Collo is an AV Preeminent peer review rated attorney by Martindale Hubbell. This rating is the highest rating available for legal ability and professional ethics. He is also a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a national Trial Lawyer Honorary Society. Fellows are selected based upon effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation.

Mr. Del Collo graduated from Villanova University in 1976 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. He thereafter attended Delaware Law School and graduated in 1979. Following law school, he became an Associate at D'Agui & Del Collo in Philadelphia, a law firm co-founded by his father. In 1985 he formed his own firm in Paoli, Pennsylvania. In 1989 he joined with Mark Mazzanti, Esquire to form the current firm.

Mark Mazzanti is a founding partner of Del Collo & Mazzanti LLP and has emphasized workers' compensation defense litigation in behalf of insurers and large employers in his 33 years of practice.

Mr. Mazzanti's introduction to Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Law was his judicial clerkship with the late Theodore O. Rogers of the Commonwealth Court. He then learned the claimant's perspective as an associate at a well-known plaintiffs firm, before moving on to staff and senior trial counsel positions with major insurers, defending civil actions, as well as workers' compensation claims.

In the course of his career, Mr. Mazzanti has handled literally thousands of workers' compensation hearings, mediations and expert witness depositions, as well as scores of oral arguments before the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board and the Commonwealth Court. He has also been a speaker for PESI on medical cost containment, and for the Bureau of Workers' Compensation Conference and the Philadelphia Bar Association on Impairment Rating Evaluations, and has appeared before numerous insurers and self-insureds on a wide range of Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation topics.

Under Mr. Mazzanti's tutelage, two former associates are now sitting workers' compensation judges. All of the attorneys at Del Collo & Mazzanti share Mr. Mazzanti's focus on excellence in client service.

Ryan McNicholas has been practicing Pennsylvania workers' compensation for over a decade and also handles civil litigation. He started his career as an Assistant District Attorney at the Lancaster District Attorney's Office where he handled various criminal matters and many jury trials. Prior to that, he worked as an intern at the Delaware Attorney General's office and Berks County District Attorney's office. He left the prosecution scene after being recruited by the offices DelCollo & Mazzanti and has remained with the firm since. Mr. McNicholas has been featured as a speaker for several self-insured clients and presented multiple lectures addressing developments in Pa. workers' compensation. He was selected as a Pennsylvania Rising Star in 2011 being recognized for excellence by his peers in the legal community.

Ms. Thompson focuses her practice on the defense of workers' compensation matters on behalf of insurance carriers, self-insured entities and third-party administrators. She represents clients in all aspects of litigation and has extensive experience in appellate practice and procedure. Ms. Thompson also has experience negotiating and executing settlements, drafting legal documents and briefs and developing strategies for overall containment of claims.

Ms. Thompson has been with Del Collo & Mazzanti LLP for over a decade. Prior to joining Del Collo & Mazzanti LLP, Ms. Thompson worked at a Center City Philadelphia plaintiffs' firm specializing in employment discrimination, Social Security, civil liability and workers compensation matters.

Ms. Thompson was named a Rising Star in the December 2008 edition of Philadelphia Magazine's Top Young Lawyers. She is a 2001 graduate of Villanova University School of Law and a 1998 graduate of Texas Christian University.

Max Kimbrough has been an associate at Del Collo & Mazzanti LLP since January 2011, after graduating from Penn State University, Dickinson School of Law in 2010. He specializes in workers' compensation defense, and has experience handling all aspects of litigation, including attending hearings, conducting depositions of expert and lay witnesses, drafting briefs, and appellate practice.

In 2011, Mr. Kimbrough argued before the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court and won an appellate court reversal of the underlying Workers' Compensation Judge's Decision which had denied the employer's petition to take a pension benefit offset. See Sch. Dist. of Phila. v. WCAB (Davis), 38 A.3d 992 (Pa. Commw. Ct. 2011).

In law school, Mr. Kimbrough served as Casenote/Symposium Editor of the Penn State International Law Review and as President of the Law & Philosophy Society. He interned at the Pennsylvania Judicial Conduct Board and the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division.
