Bankruptcy: If you are contemplating filing for bankruptcy it is important to seek advice before moving forward. I can help you decide if bankruptcy is appropriate for you and, if so, whether it would be better for you to file for Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 relief. Once you decide to go forward I will prepare all forms necessary for filing and represent you as you move through the process. (Southern District of Texas only; See bankruptcy section for permitted counties).
Business: If you are considering starting a new business I can help you determine which business entity is best for you in your particular situation. Further, I can assist you in preparing and filing all the necessary forms whether your new business will be a corporation, partnership or limited liability company. I hope that, in working with you, we will form a professional relationship that will allow me to continue to work with you as your business grows.
Securities Arbitration: If you are a securities investor and have a dispute with your investment representative you have several options for resolving your securities-related dispute. You may contact the brokerage firm involved in your securities-related dispute, file a claim in arbitration, pursue settlement through mediation or file a complaint with a securities regulator, including FINRA. I can help you determine which option is best for you. Further, I can help you assess damages incurred, identify violations that may have been committed and represent you in arbitration or mediation proceedings.
Let me help you start over with a clean slate. (Note: see eligible counties below.)
I have experience in both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy and understand how stressful debt can be. Deciding to declare bankruptcy is a difficult decision. I take time to explain the pros and cons of taking that step so the client is fully informed before filing for bankruptcy. My initial consultation is free and I charge a fixed fee for preparation and filing of bankruptcy petitions. Additionally, I will accompany each client to the meeting of creditors and all hearings.
Adversarial hearings are not common to Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 hearings, therefore my flat fee does not cover those hearings. Should you become engaged in an adversarial hearing during the course of your bankruptcy we will negotiate a reasonable fee for the additional representation.
