How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

I am interested in people. Criminal Law and immigration gives me the opportunity to interact with all kinds of people.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

The more education the client has the better.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am willing to review all documents prepared by my clients and encourage clients to produce as much as possible to help their cases.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I do not coach clients that want to represent themselves. When an attorney gives legal advice, he is essentially representing the client.

David Breston

  • As an attorney, I have been self employed since starting my practice in 1997.
  • 1996 to 1997 worked with Attorney Jeff Senter Criminal Defense Attorney Austin, Texas
  • 1996 completed a 6 month internship with the Travis County Juvenile Public Defenders Office
  • In Law School at the University of Texas I worked as a research assistant to Professor Ernest Smith
  • Worked with my father Michael P. Breston Patent Attorney Houston Texas during high school

My father was a refuge in World War II and this made me appreciate what a tyrannical government can do to people. I am a native Houstonian and this helps me because I am intimately familiar with Houston and the surrounding area. I have handled more than 4,000 criminal cases and I feel that I have gleaned a great deal of wisdom from these cases.

I am very honest. Sometimes, I tell people what they do not want to hear but need to hear. I do not sugar coat information in order to convince people to hire me.

Personal interests:

I enjoy working out, playing golf, and spending time with my family.
