How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Frank N. Darras made a decision nearly a quarter century ago that would affect tens of thousands of Americans. Darras took the road less traveled to help the sick, disabled, and elderly mount a heroic fight against billion-dollar insurance companies. Darras' life's work is protecting the disabled and senior citizens. He founded DarrasLaw, the largest disability and long-term care insurance litigation firm in the country.

DarrasLaw helps people from all walks of life, from professional athletes, doctors, lawyers, and business owners to blue-collar workers. Frank Darras and his top-rated legal team at DarrasLaw give the same stellar disability advice, careful attention and zealous advocacy to the trucker, dockworker, or CEO. With the help of DarrasLaw, policyholders recover the insurance benefits they paid dearly for and richly deserve. "It doesn't matter whether it's $50 or $5 million a month. It's never about the money. It's always about helping good, honest people collect what they are entitled to," Darras says.

DarrasLaw reviews 2,500 new disability referrals a month from all over the country. This volume allows DarrasLaw to monitor insurance company claims, policies, and procedures continuously. If an insurance carrier institutes an unreasonable new delay or denial strategy, the attorneys at DarraLaw are able to identify the problem and analyze the impact before the average disability lawyer encounters it for the first time. Not only has this resulted in quicker results for DarrasLaw's clients, it has also helped the firm earn the respect of the insurance industry.

Frank Darras has been honored by LawDragon as one of the Top 500 Lawyers, Top 500 Litigators, and Top 500 Plaintiffs' Lawyers in the United States. He has annually been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America since 2006. Darras has also been named to Super Lawyers and recognized by Outstanding Lawyers in America. Ms. Grabarsky's expertise is based on her experience as a cost-containment analyst for major insurance companies and large self-insured employers in California. She handled medical claim reviews, property and casualty claim valuations, and attended hearings on behalf of insurance carriers. But after her first Superior Court jury trial victory representing a plaintiff, she realized that her heart was not in defending big insurance companies. For the last decade, she has been representing policyholders exclusively in their fights to obtain wrongfully denied insurance benefits. She says that she sleeps better now, knowing she is working on "the right side" of battles with big insurance bureaucracy.

Ms. Grabarsky was also an Adjunct Professor of Law at her alma mater, Western State University, where she received her J.D. cum laude and was a law review editor. During law school, she had the honor of serving as a Judicial Extern for Presiding Justice David G. Sills, of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth District.

Ms. Grabarsky is admitted to practice in all California State and Federal District Courts. She is a member of the American Association for Justice, American Bar Association, The Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of California, Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, Consumer Attorneys of California, and the Joseph B.
