The firm focuses on issues involving the use of land. These can range from landlord/tenant issues to neighbor disputes regarding property line or easement questions, or even to issues encountered when trying to develop property, such as CEQA compliance and challenging the decision of a local government agency.
I opened my law office in December 2010, but have been practicing in these same areas of law in the North Bay since early 2008.
• A typical case would involve a property owner whose neighbor has an access easement over her land and who has begun using that easement more; maybe because the neighbor opened a business out of his home, or because the neighbor has begun harvesting trees on his property. I work with the property owner to ensure that the easement is not overburdened.
• Another typical case would be a landlord who would like to evict a non-rent paying tenant as quickly and efficiently as possible.

I love living in and being a part of Sonoma County. Part of what makes this area so great is the sense of community. By helping neighboring property owners, landlords and tenants work together to resolve their disputes, I feel I am helping to keep this community working together. It can difficult to enjoy the other parts of your life if you aren't able to enjoy your home and community.
I think everyone should learn as much about the law as they can. Knowing your rights is the best way to ensure that those rights are, and remain, legally protected.
I am happy to review documents prepared by clients and give any help I can.
The law can be complex and each case is unique. I am not opposed to coaching clients to represent themselves and believe that in some situations it is a wise choice. If this is something a client would like to do, I would be happy to talk with him or her about it.
Prior to opening my doors in Santa Rosa, I spent three years as an associate attorney at the largest law firm in Mendocino County, helping clients in Mendocino, Lake and Sonoma counties in real estate law. Prior to that, I worked at a maritime law firm in Newport Beach for three years, first as a file clerk, and then as an associate attorney.
Before attending law school, I worked in Los Angeles in television development for five years. There, I worked with writers and executives to create ideas for television shows, matched each idea to the proper writer and then sold that product to a studio and network. This experience in the entertainment industry taught me how to manage egos and emotions, to know when one side's story doesn't sound right, and to bring people together to reach a common goal.
I am a passionate advocate for my client. I am also a creative problem solver who appreciates the financial constraints faced by everyone these days.Personal interests:
I am an avid hiker and reader. I also like to experiment in the kitchen, spend time with my family, and watch movies, new and old.
