D. Glenn Smith, Jr. Attorney at Law

Firm Overview

I work hard to handle my client's cases in a thorough and principled manner. My philosophy is to prepare for the worst, but expect the best. I will treat you with respect, answer your questions thoroughly, explain your legal options and return your phone calls promptly.

For twelve years I have represented individuals fighting for disability benefits. I know the procedural and substantive law and regulations which govern the determination of disability. More importantly, I know how to present your case at the ALJ hearing (ODAR), which is your best shot at winning benefits. I have tried nearly a hundred cases at the ALJ hearing level and dozens at the Appeals Council with a very high degree of success.

Social Security Disability
I focus my practice on Social Security Disability, Estate Planning and Real Estate. My main practice area is social security disability.
I am a solo practitioner that has devoted my professional life to helping individuals whose lives have been dramatically affected by injury or illness. My philosophy is to provide thoughtful, thorough and effective legal advocacy to those in need, and to improve lives in any other way in which I am capable.

In social security disability or SSI cases, I focus on the medical aspects that limit my clients ability to function in the workplace. I work with my clients personally to explain the disability determination process, and how we can best convince the social security judge that your impairments, mental and/or physical limit you in ways that preclude your ability to be gainfully employed.

Call for a consultation. There is a no fee unless you win your case in social security disability and SSI cases. I conduct a thorough screening before accepting a case which enhances the chance of success.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Having been a personal injury trial lawyer for several years, I am familiar with the ways that injury and illness can decrease a persons ability to function and perform work on a continuing basis. I also enjoy helping disabled people obtain benefits that enable them to live life with some dignity and with access to medical care.

Denzil Glenn Smith, Jr

I was raised on a tobacco farm in Kentucky. We never had much money, in fact it was usually a struggle just to have the basic needs covered. But I grew to understand the importance of hard work and family.

I graduated from Georgetown College in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. After 7 years of experience in the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet, I was inspired to study law. I graduated from Ohio Northern University, Pettit College of Law, in 2000.

For 3 years I as an associate at Beers Mallers Backs & Salin, a large firm in Fort Wayne, Indiana, practicing in their Litigation Practice Group. I then turned my focus on personal injury trial work. I have been a trial attorney with Keller & Keller, working out of their South Bend, Indiana and St. Joseph, Michigan offices and with Steeg & Glista P.C. in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

I am married to Beth Ann, my wife of 16 years, and we have 5 wonderful children. I am an avid cyclist, but my main "extra-curricular" activities are spending time with my family and coaching little league baseball and youth football.
