If you have been charged or accused of a criminal offense in Nevada or California, you need skilled legal representation immediately. Every minute without a skilled lawyer puts your freedom further at risk.
When accused of a crime, it is crucial to have a lawyer who understands the impact that the accusations have on an individual's life while preparing a defense to the charges, as well as the consequences of a conviction. Attorney Cotter Conway takes prompt, decisive action to ensure that defendants receive a fair trial. However, his 20 years of experience representing defendants in criminal matters may often result in having the charges dismissed or reduced without the need of a trial.
Cotter C. Conway has devoted his entire professional career to defending individuals charged with all types of criminal offenses, including drug related offenses, battery and domestic battery offenses, gaming offenses, and driving under the influence (DUI) offenses. During law school he worked in the Office of the Juvenile Defender for the Vermont Defender General and later in the Special Unit for the Defense of Drug Offenses. After graduation from law school, Mr. Conway moved back to Nevada where he began his legal career working in the private sector with other criminal defense lawyers. He soon joined the Washoe County Public Defender's Office, where he served notably as a Deputy Public Defender for more than fourteen years.
Mr. Conway's exemplary service and abilities were recognized in 2007 when he was chosen to staff the newly-created Washoe County Alternate Public Defender's Office. In addition, he represented the interests of the criminal defense bar before the Nevada State Legislature. In these roles Mr. Conway gained a depth of experience dealing with a very broad range of issues, giving him the insights and skills to zealously and effectively represent his clients in the courtroom.
Mr. Conway is licensed to practice in all Nevada and California courts as well as local federal courts in Nevada and Northern California. He is also a member of the Washoe County Bar Association.
