Firm Overview

The Law Office of Christine A. Majewski is dedicated to offering exceptional, professional, and personalized legal services to all of our clients.

We believe that character and compassion count . . . character, being a quality which distinguishes our firm apart from the rest . . . and the compassion to appreciate the individual differences of each client and his or her legal needs.

Our office cares about the outcome of our clients' cases. Even the simplest cases can have serious consequences. Therefore, we use every resource available to provide the best legal representation as possible.

The Law Office of Christine A. Majewski seeks to build lasting relationsihps with its clients and the community. We believe that trust, openness, and honest are key in developing those relationships.

Our firm sees its services as a means of value to our clients and their already stressful legal situations.

The Law Office of Christine A. Majewski was established in the fall of 2001, after Christine A. Majewski left her employment at a local law firm in order to represent the Indiana Department of Child Services (formerly the Department of Family and Children) in helping protect children from child abuse and neglect. In the fall of 2008, the Law Office of Christine A. Majewski was expanded to provide various legal services to more individuals in our community.

Example cases

Divorce:
We recently represented a father who was slapped with a $50,000.00 interest judgment for back child support. We filed a Motion to Reconsider with the Court and negotiated the judgment down to a more palatable $15,000.00.

In a recent Guardianship matter, we represented a Grandmother in obtaining guardianship of her two year-old granddaughter. We fast-tracked the guardianship, so that the child would only have to spend a minimal amount of time in foster care. We went back into court on the guardianship and got the court to order child support from the parents, thereby helping Grandmother financially provide for her granddaughter.

Criminal Defense:
A client was facing a B Felony for burglary. We were able to negotiate a plea agreement with the prosecutor's office and successfully argue to the Judge at sentencing to keep our client out of jail and only receive probation.

Government:
We recently represented a client in a Social Security Disability case at a hearing in front of the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ), who had disabilities which were very difficult to prove. We submitted the necessary medical documents to the ALJ that not only got our client approved, but also led to the ALJ re-opening a prior application for this particular client to provide our client with several years of additional back-pay eligibility.

Family Law:
We represented a couple who adopted two siblings, who were the victims of domestic violence. In a matter of a couple of months, our clients became the proud parents of two brothers, ages four and six. The boys are happily settled with their new family in the country, with dogs and cats and plenty of room to run and play!

Christine A. Majewski

Prior to establishing the Law Office of Christine A. Majewski and prior to representing the State of Indiana in its child abuse and child neglect cases, Christine handled a variety of legal cases, including: criminal defense matters; plaintiff's personal injury matters; family law matters; wills and trusts; and other general legal matters. Prior to entering the legal field, Christine worked in the areas of mental health and addictions.

All of my life experiences have molded me into the lawyer I am. My undergraduate degree in psychology helped prepare me for the human element that is prevalent in the law.

I believe in tackling a case as soon as I am retained as counsel to represent a client. My style is to attempt resolution for the parties involved in an effective, yet amicable manner.

Personal interests:

I enjoy reading and researching the current laws, even in my spare time; and spending quality time with my family.
