The law firm of Chase & Bylenga, PLLC primarily protects consumers and small businesses from creditor aggression. We understand that most individuals and small businesses experiencing financial hardship run into unforeseen circumstances, which leave them unable to repay their debt. We also understand that many individuals have tried to work with their creditors, but the creditors were unwilling to work towards a practical solution.

At Chase & Bylenga, PLLC, our experienced attorneys have settled or eliminated millions of dollars of debt for our clients. We can stop garnishments, stop foreclosures prior to the Sheriff's Sale, stop creditors from seizing your bank accounts, stop harassing phone calls, and in some cases, recover funds that have already been taken by creditors.
At Chase & Bylenga, PLLC, our experienced attorneys have settled or eliminated millions of dollars of debt for our clients in addition to negotiating with creditors and allowing our clients to save their homes.
Under the federal bankruptcy code: we can stop the foreclosure process; allow you to get caught up on arrearages; and in some cases, we can even strip a second mortgage from your home. To take advantage of these provisions, your case must be filed prior to the sheriff's sale. Alternatively, if you simply want to get out from underneath your mortgage debt, we can provide you with the fresh start you deserve.

Our firm specializes in Chapter 13 bankruptcies that stop the foreclosure process and allow you to get caught up on your mortgage payments over time. Carol Chase, one of the founders of the firm, is a former Chapter 13 Trustee's Attorney who administered thousands of Chapter 13 cases. She is regarded among the legal community as one of the top Chapter 13 attorneys in West Michigan.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Firm founder, Carol Chase, has almost 20 years experience working for the Trustee's office administrating bankruptcy cases. She has since taken her knowledge and skills over to private practice in order to help individuals and small businesses looking to evaluate their bankruptcy options.

Carol's partner, Steve Bylenga, began practice at a volume filing firm where he quickly became a managing attorney of their Grand Rapids office. Steve filed hundreds of cases and has since opened his own firm focusing less on volume and more on providing a client-based approach.
