Long Term Disability
Long Term Disability insurance claims, particularly those governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA)
ERISA LTD claims can be tricky, and it is particularly important to hire an attorney as soon as possible after a denial. Usually, you will only have 6 months to gather and submit all of the information you would ever want to use to support a claim. A good attorney will help with that process, and is then prepared to litigate the case after a final denial, if necessary.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Our firm's team members have all had disabled family members, so their personal experiences made them comfortable with this field. Jeremy approaches things from a more analytical angle, focusing on legal rights, while Tori's background in Social Work makes her ideal at empathizing with the difficult situations our clients often find themselves in.

Jeremy L. Bordelon

Jeremy has worked his way through the ranks in this field, starting as a paralegal for a disability benefits firm in Tennessee. He continued working there throughout law school and rejoined the firm as an attorney after graduation, magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Later, Jeremy moved to Portland, where he was a partner at a firm for a year, before striking out on his own to focus primarily on disability insurance claims.

Prior to law school, Jeremy grew up in Acadiana, the Cajun region of south Louisiana. Later, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served five years on active duty as a Cryptologic Technician (Technical), serving first overseas, and later on fast-attack nuclear submarines. While stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, he met his wife, an Oregon native.

Jeremy enjoys sifting through the complex sets of rules that are involved in these practice areas, and is experienced at taking those complex rules and explaining realistic options to his clients. The unfortunate truth of this field is that sometimes, options are limited, but Jeremy enjoys helping his clients make the best of a bad situation.
