Our office can also assist with the probate of an estate after a loved one has passed. We represent individuals selected to act as their loved one's personal representative to probate the will. We work closely with the personal representative to ensure a seamless probate process.

Is your firm willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

Massachusetts permits attorneys to assist clients in a limited capacity in the Probate & Family Court if the lawyer has been specially certified to office Limited Assistance Representation. We are certified to offer LAR to our clients and are more than happy to assist clients in whatever capacity they choose. LAR is an excellent option for clients looking to keep costs low.

Catherine Taylor

Attorney Taylor was born and raised in Western New York. She graduated from Livonia High School in 2003. Attorney Taylor continued her education at Pace University in Pleasantville, New York, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2006. While at Pace University, Attorney Taylor was active in the Criminal Justice Society, and acted as the Vice PResident, earning an award for her dedication to co-curricular activities. Attorney Taylor also played on the University's tennis team. Upon graduating from Pact University, Attorney Taylor went on to work as a Legal Assistant for Polito & Quinn in Waterford, Connecticut, where she worked primarily on personal injury and medical malpractice cases. Attorney Taylor also worked briefly as a Legal Secretary for Moody, Strople, Kloeppel & Higginbotham, Inc. in Portsmouth, Virginia, where she worked primarily on FELA claims for injured railroad workers.

In 2008 Attorney Taylor began her studies at New England Law | Boston. Attorney Taylor graduated cum laude in 2011 and is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. While at New England, Attorney Taylor focused her studies on estate planning and family law. Attorney Taylor was named a New England Scholar for superior academic achievement, and was on the Dean's List. Attorney Taylor was also a Lead Articles Editor for the New Englad Journal on Criminal and Civil Confinement.

While in law school, Attorney Taylor had the opportunity to work closely with two of her law professors as a research assistant, contributing to articles on estate planning, the Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code, and education policy. Attorney Taylor also had the pleasure of working with a justice of the Massachusetts Superior Court in the criminal session for a summer. During her final year of law school, Attorney Taylor worked for Nelson & Broadbent as a law clerk, where she participated in all aspects of pretrial preparation.

Upon being admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 2011, Attorney Taylor set up her own practice in Sharon, Massachusetts. Her practice focused on family law, estate planning and employment law. Attorney Taylor has also worked on a variety of other cases, including Section 8 housing, firearm licensing, personal injury, guardianships and conservatorships. In 2013 Attorney Taylor moved her office to Holden and joined forces with Attorney Broadbent and formed Broadbent & Taylor.

Outside of the office, Attorney Taylor is on the Board of Directors for the Cottage Children's Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts and enjoys playing with her son, running half marathons, golfing with her husband, and taking her dog on long walks.

Kelly Broadbent

Kelly A. Broadbent is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States District Court: District of Massachusetts. She has been practicing law since 2004. Her practice focuses on Bankruptcy, Criminal Law, Family Law, Traffic Defense, and general Civil Litigation. Attorney Broadbent is a lifelong resident of Grafton, Massachusetts. She attended the Grafton School System and graduated from Grafton High School in 1997. Attorney Broadbent continued her education at Boston University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Sociology. While at Boston University, Attorney Broadbent was a founding member of Theater for Engineers, an atypical theatre group dedicated to bringing the performing arts to students with more rigorous class schedules. In addition, Attorney Broadbent performed regularly in Worcester, Massachusetts and Ogunquit, Maine with Booth Productions, a local theatre group. Attorney Broadbent was employed at the Tsai Performance Center, where she worked with clients such as Julia Child, Warren Miller Films, and HBO to bring performing arts and culture to students at Boston University.

Attorney Broadbent attended Rutgers University School of Law in Camden, New Jersey, earning her law degree in 2004. At Rutgers, Attorney Broadbent was active in the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. She served as both Vice President of Entertainment and Treasurer during her time in law school. Attorney Broadbent was employed during law school at the Law Office of John A. Klamo, P.C. as a law clerk, where she actively participated in all aspects of pretrial preparation.

Following law school, Attorney Broadbent practiced law in Cambridge, Massachusetts as a Litigation Associate. In that position, she focused on personal injury, civil litigation, family law, criminal defense and traffic defense.

Attorney Broadbent values her life experiences and uses them to her clients' benefit when practicing law. Dedication, teamwork, and persistence are some of the attributes she developed from her education and legal experiences.
