How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

I've always been attracted to the areas of Family Law and Real Estate (landlord/tenant) and the majority of my practice centers on these two areas.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I feel it is very important that individuals attempt to gain as much knowledge as they can to have a complete understanding as to what their legal issues involve. By having this knowledge you will be much better able to make intelligent decisions concerning your particular case.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am unwilling to review documents prepared by clients.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I am unwilling to coach clients who want to represent themselves.

Tanya L. Hughes Freeman

I have wanted to become a lawyer from as far back as I can remember. While I have raised a family and had a very fulfilling career in both the banking and healthcare industries, until I became an attorney my career did not feel complete.

My desire to become an attorney led me to go to law school while I was raising six children and working as an office administrator and paralegal in my husband's law office. I managed to attend school full time and graduate with honors as well as receiving several academic and leadership awards. I was also the president of a student bar association in my 3rd year of law school and passed both the New Jersey and New York bar exams the first time I sat for them.

While I have not been a licensed attorney for very long, I have substantial experience particularly in the area of family law which is my passion. While working in my husband's office I developed my legal research and writing skills long before I entered law school and that greatly contributed to academic success. I also was able to observe and learn from many excellent attorneys who had cases with our office. This opportunity has enabled me to become battled tested in court long before most newly admitted attorneys would be able to do so.

I can promise you that if you retain me as your attorney I will give one hundred and ten percent of my effort, skill and dedication to your case.
