With the constantly changing estate planning laws, it is important to implement a sound wealth preservation program. As experts in the field of federal estate taxes, our mission at Bittner, Hyrns, Daly & Riemland, P.C. is to listen to our clients' needs and develop a personalized plan to accomplish their financial goals and maximize tax savings. We achieve this through the creation of wills and trusts, family partnerships, charitable gifts and business succession plans. Our goal is to partner with our clients and develop a trusted long-term relationship that extends to their families as we guide them through the administration of the probate and estate process after the loss of a loved one, as well as the preparation of the estate tax returns.

Real Estate Law:
Adept at all areas of real estate law, the attorneys at Bittner, Hyrns, Daly & Riemland, P.C. can assist the buyer or seller from the beginning to the closing of any real estate transaction with the preparation of both residential and commercial purchase agreements and leases, land contracts, warranty deeds, quit claim deeds and covenant deeds. We also review title insurance commitments, surveys and closing statements.

We aid clients with the creation and vacation of easements, quiet title actions and forfeiture of land contracts, as well as the formation of condominium and associations.

Randy S. Hyrns

Practice Areas & Experience: Mr. Hyrns concentrates his legal practice on litigation. He helps clients in attempting to resolve their disputes prior to litigation; however, if litigation is necessary, he adeptly guides clients through the processes of filing a complaint, conducting discovery, and preparing for and handling the eventual trial. Mr. Hyrns has extensive experience in the following areas of law: commercial/business, construction, contracts, real estate, municipal, unemployment, domestic, and probate. Mr. Hyrns has had extensive training in the field of alternative dispute resolution and has negotiated a variety of complex settlements as a facilitative mediator.

Practice Areas & Experience: Mr. Daly has a substantial amount of knowledge and experience in estate planning, income, gift, and estate tax, corporate, and real estate law. He counsels clients on the creation of wills and trusts and the administration of both large and small estates and trusts. He advises clients on strategies to lawfully minimize tax liabilities. Mr. Daly has represented many individuals and businesses in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service and other taxing authorities.

James J. Riemland

Practice Areas & Experience: Mr. Riemland focuses his practice primarily in the areas of real estate and estate planning. In the area of real estate law, Mr. Riemland advises clients on residential and commercial transactions and title and title insurance issues, as well as many other matters associated with real estate. Mr. Riemland spends a majority of his time advising clients on how best to plan their estates. For his clients, Mr. Riemland can prepare estate planning documents ranging from a simple will to a detailed trust. With regard to estate planning, Mr. Riemland advises his clients how to structure their estate plans so as to minimize the amount of federal tax that may burden their estate.

Richard A. Racht

Practice Areas & Experience: Mr. Racht practices mainly in the areas of real estate, contracts, commercial/business, construction, and all litigation related to those areas. He also practices in the area of criminal law, and can assist clients facing traffic violations, misdemeanors and felonies. He has experience litigating disputes with respect to real estate purchase agreements, zoning, insurance and employment disputes. In the area of domestic law, Mr. Racht often represents clients involved in child custody and divorce actions. He also can assist clients in meeting their estate planning goals. During law school Mr. Racht clerked in the LaPorte County Circuit Court for the Honorable Robert W. Gilmore. Mr. Racht also participated in Valparaiso University

Andrew W. Barnes

Practice Areas & Experience: Mr. Barnes focuses his practice on real estate, litigation, and construction law. In the area of real estate law, Mr. Barnes advises clients on residential and commercial transactions, and he also handles litigation involving disputes over real estate, easements, and other related matters. Mr. Barnes has extensive experience in mortgage foreclosures and land contract forfeitures. He also handles landlord/tenant disputes, including eviction actions. With respect to construction law, Mr. Barnes can advise homeowners, contractors, or subcontractors of their rights under their individual construction contract and under Michigan's Construction Lien Act. Mr. Barnes also has experience in estate planning and family law, including divorces and guardianships. Prior to joining Bittner, Hyrns, Daly & Riemland, P.C., Mr. Barnes clerked in the Allegan County 48th Circuit Court for the Honorable George R. Corsiglia. During law school, Mr. Barnes had internships with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the Honorable Patrick M. Meter of the Michigan Court of Appeals.
