Cynthia Berger

Born in Gettysburg, PA in 1950, Cynthia C. Berger graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with her bachelor's degree in 1972. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1975. Ms. Berger began her legal career as a staff attorney working for the Judges at the Pittsburgh Social Security Office of Hearing and Appeals. She left the Office of Hearing and Appeals to become a founding member of the law firm of Berger and Green, P.C., representing disabled individuals throughout Western Pennsylvania and surrounding areas in Social Security Disability (SSD) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims.


Attorney Berger has assessed over 50,000 Social Security disability claims in the tri-state area during the course of her career. Because of Ms. Berger's experience and expertise in Social Security disability cases, she is often invited to lecture on a variety of topics concerning Social Security disability. She has lectured at conventions of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR), the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA), the Federal Bar Association (FBA), the National Business Institute (NBI) and the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA).


For more than 39 years, Attorney Berger has established a respected reputation for representing people who are no longer able to work due to their disabilities. Ms. Berger is an experienced Pennsylvania Social Security disability attorney who other attorneys turn to for advice and knowledge. Attorney Berger understands the difficulties an individual faces when they are no longer able to work due to their conditions. She is aware of the complexity of a Social Security disability case and works hard to make this process easier on her clients so they can ultimately focus on their health.

Ms. Berger is licensed to practice in all Pennsylvania State and Federal Courts and in any Social Security Court throughout the United States, as well as in the United States Supreme Court. Attorney Berger is the Chairperson of the ACBA Social Security Practitioners Committee and a Fellow of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation.


Attorney Berger serves as current president of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR). With over 4,000 members, NOSSCR is the largest group of attorneys advocating for the rights of claimant's trying to receive Social Security disability benefits. Ms. Berger has been a leader for NOSCCR for several years. As president, Attorney Berger will work with the Social Security Administration and Congress to resolve current backlogs and issues that impact the disability determination process.


Attorney Berger is an active member in the legal community. She is a member of many professional organizations including NOSSCR, the American Bar Association (ABA), the American Association for Justice (AAJ), the Pennsylvania Association for Justice (PAJ) and the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association (WPTLA). Ms. Berger is also a 2011-present Pennsylvania Super Lawyer. As a Super Lawyer, attorney Berger represents the top five percent of all lawyers in Pennsylvania. William J. Remaley

Attorney William J. Remaley was born in Springdale, Pennsylvania in 1950. He graduated from Penn State University with his bachelor's degree in 1972 and obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1977. One of his greatest joys in life is helping people; this led him to his current career choice as an attorney helping his clients receive Social Security disability benefits.

Mr. Remaley began his legal career as a staff attorney working for the Administrative Law Judges at the Pittsburgh Social Security Office of Hearings and Appeals. At this position, he received several awards for outstanding service to the public. Attorney Remaley has been a Social Security disability attorney with Berger and Green, P.C., for more than 20 years. At Berger and Green he represents disabled individuals in Social Security Disability (SSD) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims. Attorney Remaley says what he loves most about his job is the interaction with his clients.

Attorney Remaley wants more than just a favorable decision for his clients. Linell Lee

Attorney Linell Lee was born in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1963. She graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana in 1987 where she earned her bachelor's degree. Upon graduation, Ms. Lee began teaching middle school English and speech classes. She then moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked as a congressional legislative assistant and speechwriter. Her congressional legislative duties concentrated in the areas of Social Security, health care, education, and women's issues. Ms. Lee moved to Pittsburgh in 1990 to attend the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where she graduated with her Juris Doctor in 1993. While in law school, attorney Lee was awarded a PLISF scholarship for an internship in the Juneau Public Defender's Office in Juneau, Alaska. She also interned for the Federal Public Defender of the Western District of Pennsylvania and worked as a law clerk in the Allegheny General Hospital Legal Department.


Ms. Lee began her legal career as a judicial law clerk in Armstrong County with the Honorable Kenneth Valasel and the Honorable Joseph Nickleach. She later taught paralegal courses at the Western School of Health and Business Careers. Ms. Lee then joined the non-profit organization KidsVoice as a staff attorney, representing abused and neglected children in dependency proceedings in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas Family Division, Juvenile Section. She also worked as a family law attorney in Allegheny County, representing clients in adult and juvenile Family Division Court proceedings where she gained extensive courtroom experience.


Ms. Lee joined Berger and Green, P.C. in 2010 as a Social Security disability attorney, representing disabled individuals in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia in Social Security Disability (SSD) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) cases. Attorney Lee enjoys disability law because she believes in advocating for people who are struggling to work due to their disabling conditions. She is an upfront attorney who builds creditable cases with her clients, sharing with them the strengths and weaknesses of their case. She urges her clients to stay in medical treatment and focus on their health throughout the process while she handles their disability case.

Amanda Bonnesen

Attorney Amanda J. Bonnesen was born in Wheeling, West Virginia in 1981 where she graduated from the Linsly School in 1999. She then attended the University of South Carolina where she earned her bachelor's degree in criminal justice. She was also named to the Criminal Justice Honor Society and was a participant in the National Student Exchange at the University of Wyoming. Being an independent thinker and wanting to further her own ideas, Ms. Bonnesen went on to earn her Juris Doctor in 2006 from the University of Dayton School of Law. During law school, she participated in the Pro Bono Appellate Project and served in the University's Law Clinic where she offered free legal assistance to those in need. She also clerked for Judge Walter Rice in Federal District Court of the Sixth circuit and Judge Jennifer Sargus in Belmont County, Ohio. Ms. Bonnesen began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Allegheny County, where she gained extensive courtroom experience.

Attorney Bonnesen is a Social Security disability attorney at Berger and Green, P. C., where she represents individuals in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia in Social Security Disability (SSD) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) cases.
