She graduated from La Jolla High School and went directly to the University of California at Berkeley. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley with honors and went on to obtain a secondary teaching credential from San Francisco State College.

After teaching high school for two years Judith decided to go to law school. She enrolled at Golden Gate University in San Francisco and graduated three years later. While at Golden Gate she was on the Law Review. After graduation she took and passed the California Bar Exam. She then decided to move to Alaska where she took and passed that states bar exam. In Alaska she worked for an insurance defense firm for two years and then started her own practice with another attorney, Kathleen Harrington. While in Alaska she served one term as president of the Anchorage Bar Association and she served three years as a member of the Board of Governors of the Alaska Bar Association. She also served for one year on the Alaska Bar Association Disciplinary Committee.

After twelve years Judith moved back to San Diego and started her own practice in family law and bankruptcy. Recently she has joined forces with Attorney Barbara Weiser to form the law firm of Bazeley and Weiser in Rancho Bernardo. Judith has two children and three grandchildren. She also volunteers at her grandchildren's elementary school.
