Established in 1996, ALG serves clients from Wyoming and across the United States on energy, utility, real estate and natural resource issues. Our attorneys are recognized as some of the State's leading practitioners in their areas of expertise and have many years of experience providing legal services to the industries they serve. Our partners each have more than twenty years of litigation experience, and are licensed to practice in all Wyoming State and Federal courts and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. The firm has many cases in Wyoming, but also has cases in other states in the Inter-mountain West. Two of our attorneys are also licensed to practice in the Colorado courts. ALG handles a wide variety of employment matters, including issues related to discrimination and/or retaliation on the basis of sex, race, age, disability, religion, or national origin under state and federal law and including the American's With Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Act of 1991, the Equal Pay Act of 1963, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, the Wyoming Fair Employment Practices Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, and other federal and state acts. They also handle state common law claims for wrongful termination, as well as employment related tort claims such as invasion of privacy, slander and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The firm has handled a number of cases seeking temporary restraining orders and injunctions based upon non-compete agreements.

The firm also practices before the EEOC and Wyoming Fair Employment Practices Commission. They have lectured and written articles for various special interest groups including the Wyoming Lodging and Restaurant Association, National Business Institute, Wyoming Claims Association, Council on Education in Management, Wyoming Hospital Association and Wyoming State Bar Association.

ALG is located in Cheyenne, the Capital of Wyoming, close to the government offices and agencies that regulate the industries we serve. Our attorneys and staff are part of the Cheyenne community. The relationships our attorneys have established with regulatory agencies, government and within the community allow us to provide valuable local knowledge for our clients, many of whom come from out of state to do business in Wyoming.

The firm also handles litigation on a frequent basis in courts throughout the region. Bruce S. Asay

Mr. Asay focuses his practice in the areas of employment law, civil rights, public utilities and administrative law. He often lectures on employment and public utility issues. In employment law, Mr. Asay has provided employment advice to employers and individuals on such issues as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Rehabilitation Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and other state and federal anti-discrimination laws.

He is a former Judge Advocate for the Wyoming National Guard and has provided legal services to the Army and Air National Guard. Serving in these capacities has given Mr. Asay ample opportunity and significant experience in dealing with personnel practices, employee relations, termination, and a broad range of other legal disciplines.

Mr. Asay began his career as a Staff Attorney for the Wyoming Public Service Commission and served as a Special Assistant Attorney General so is intimately familiar with the Commission's practice and procedure, and now represents many of Wyoming's regulated companies in rate making cases and other proceedings before the Commission.

Mr. Asay received his B.S. degree from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from the University of Wyoming. He is a member of the Laramie County Bar Association, Wyoming State Bar Association, American Bar Association (member Utilities section), the Wyoming Trial Lawyers' Association and other trade associations.
