Social Security Disability
Our firm's Stroudsburg Social Security Disability lawyers are committed to helping individuals in Eastern Pennsylvania obtain much-needed disability benefits to cover their medical bills and daily living expenses.
Providing Strong Advocacy to Help You Secure the Benefits You Need:
If an illness or injury has left you unable to work, you are likely considering your options, including filing for Social Security Disability benefits. Unfortunately, pursuing Social Security Disability (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits can become a challenging endeavor. The Social Security Administration turns down about 85 percent of people who apply for benefits the first time.

Fortunately, your odds of securing SSI and SSDI benefits can be increased significantly with the help of a highly skilled and persistent Social Security Disability lawyer on your side. At the Stroudsburg law offices of Amori & Associates, LLC, we offer strong advocacy and legal counsel to fight back against denied claims. We will apply our years of experience and legal skills in pursuit of helping you secure the benefits you are entitled to receive.

We understand that applying for SSDI and SSI can appear to be a daunting and overwhelming process. To help alleviate any anxieties, we are available to address any of your legal concerns and explain the differences between SSDI and SSI benefits.

Social Security Disability benefits, or SSDI, are available to individuals who recently worked. To qualify, you generally need to have worked 5 out of the last 10 years. The eligibility requirements are a little different for individuals under 31 years old, since they have not been in the workforce as long, and for individuals more than 50 years old, who have been part of the workforce much longer.

Supplemental Security Income Benefits, or SSI, Income are paid to disabled individuals who are considered at a low income level. To qualify, you do not need to prove that you worked in the past. The eligibility requirements for the two programs differ greatly. However, for both SSI and SSDI, you must prove that a medically recognized impairment has restricted your ability to make a living for at least 12 months.

Initial claims for both social security disability and supplemental security income are filed directly with the Social Security Administration. The initial disability application can be made online with the Social Security Administration website. The initial SSI application may also be made online.

Our law firm is available to help you navigate through the legal process in appealing denied claims, whether you are denied disability or supplemental security income.

We will take time preparing you for your hearing to help you effectively demonstrate the extent of your medical condition before the administrative judge. The steps we take could ultimately help you gain the benefits you need to keep your home without draining all of your savings.

If you are going through a divorce, your life is about to change. Securing your legal rights with the help of a highly skilled Stroudsburg divorce lawyer will help you move ahead with your life after the divorce. An experienced lawyer will work with you to come up with a plan tailored to the needs of you and your family.

We understand that the raw emotions involving complex divorces can lead to bitter disputes. Our law firm will apply our years of experience and legal skills to help protect your rights without adding fuel to the fire.

Contact Amori & Associates, LLC, Today:
When you select our law firm, we will initially help you determine what type of divorce to pursue. Pennsylvania has several types of no-fault and fault-based divorce. We will review your situation and your options to come up with a plan that fits your current and long-term concerns.

A consent-based no-fault divorce requires that both parties agree to the divorce. This type of divorce can be finalized in as little as 90 days from the time it is filed. The second type of no-fault divorce requires both parties to live separately for two years. Both sides can legally live under the same roof, as long as they do not reconcile.

Once you have decided to file for divorce, you will need to determine if you wish to propose a settlement or fight in court. In Pennsylvania, each part of the divorce process can be resolved separately through the court system. Often parties reach a resolution for on aspect of the divorce, like spousal support and property division, but still be involved in litigation in another portion of the proceeding such as child custody. One of our experienced family law attorneys will help you resolve each area of your divorce settlement, such as:

Alimony and child support
Child custody
Division of marital property
Relocation after divorce

With so many options to consider, we understand that you may feel overwhelmed with many family law-related questions. We will be there for you throughout the process, focused on helping you find solutions tailored to the needs of your family.
