Donald Bertrand

Chief Litigation Attorney
Massachusetts native Donald J. Bertrand has practiced law for 30 years. He concentrates his practice in the areas of Domestic Relations; Criminal Law; Bankruptcy and Personal Injury.

Numerous legal publications as well as major Boston newspapers have reported attorney Donald J. Bertrand's trial court successes; and his cases have resulted in new case law in the areas of divorce, bankruptcy, employment, discrimination and land use. Stuart Alford

Immigration Expert

Massachusetts native, Stuart Alford began his legal career in 1990, and focuses his practice in the areas of Landlord and Tenant Law, Bankruptcy, Personal Injury, and Immigration. He has successfully handled hundreds of cases before the Massachusetts Trial Court, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the U.S. Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Alford managed residential real estate holdings for private landlords, personally handling all Summary Process and eviction matters. Today, Mr. Alford represents residential and commercial tenants, as well as private, corporate, and public landlords. Attorney Alford brings his landlord/tenant experience to his current representation of individual landlords and municipal housing authorities and has utilized his experience as a landlord to aggressively seek the removal of tenants who were involved in illegal drug distribution and other dangerous activities.

Attorney Alford represents individuals and business in Bankruptcy proceedings and adversarial actions before the United States Bankruptcy Court. His experience and his knowledge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code has assisted his many clients in obtaining discharge from indebtedness while at the same time keeping most, if not all of their property, including real estate.

Professional activities with which Attorney Alford is engaged include conducting immigration seminars for many community groups and seminars for first-time homebuyers on behalf of a major non-profit consumer credit counseling organization. Mr. Alford has lectured at various organizations with regard to Bankruptcy law and Landlord's and Tenant's rights. Mr. Alford has appeared as the guest host on many foreign language radio programs in the greater Boston area, answering questions and educating listeners about their legal rights.

Paul Chomko

Helen Arzoumanian

Helen Arzoumanian has been admitted to practice of law in Massachusetts since 2006. She has practiced in the areas of Civil Litigation, Elder Law and Immigration Law. At Alford & Bertrand, LLC, she has focused in the areas of Personal Injury Law, Workers Compensation Law and discrimination claims. Attorney Arzoumanian speaks fluent Russian and Armenian. As an attorney for Alford & Bertrand, LLC she has represented major financial institutions located in Russia with financial interests in the United States. As an attorney with a reputation for professional integrity, Attorney Arzoumanian enjoys working with clients, conquering new challenges, and achieving the best possible result in every situation. Her top priority is making sure that every question a client may have is answered promptly.

Prior to practicing law, Attorney Arzoumanian interned for two summers at the Human Rights Watch offices in Washington, DC and in Moscow, Russia. She graduated from Boston College Law School in 2006, where she was a member of the moot court team, and with a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Baltimore in 2001. She is fluent in Russian and Armenian.
