Attorneys David Ostrander and Denise Shear are Board Certified bankruptcy attorneys by the American Board of Certification. Attorney Ostrander has over 22 years of bankruptcy experience, and has been a bankruptcy trustee since 1997. Attorney Denise Shear has over 12 years of bankruptcy experience and has been board certified since 2005. Attorney Elizabeth Katz has been involved in bankruptcy matters for over four years. Previously she was an assistant district attorney for many years.

David Ostrander, Denise Shear, and Liz Katz together have almost 50 years of legal experience. They specialize in bankruptcy law so their clients can feel confident that they will be well represented in their bankruptcy matter.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Individuals and small business people were not being served well by lawyers in the area as they did not focus on bankruptcy law, but merely "dabbled" in this area of law. Our firm specializes in bankruptcy which means that our clients can be confident that they receive competent and experienced representation in their bankruptcy case or matter.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others

Two of the three lawyers in the office are Board Certified by the American Board of Certification, an organization that requires lawyers to confirm that they remain knowledgeable about bankruptcy law by annual recertification. All three lawyers are frequent panelists at continuing legal education seminars and programs. Finally, bankruptcy is what we do; we specialize in bankruptcy; it is not a "sideline" to "dabble" in when other practice areas dry up.
