How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

The founder of Lincoln Law initially started his legal career in corporate law. Disenchanted by big business, he decided to help those who were often unable to help themselves. With the understanding of the intense financial and emotional burden that out of control debt can inevitably bear on a family, consumer rights was a clear choice. And ever since, helping those in debt has become our passion. The attorneys and staff selected to represent Lincoln's legacy are rigorously selected based on core values similar to those that started it all.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others

Our attorneys have graduated from Berkeley Law, UCLA, BYU and Oklahoma City University with various honors including multiple Manga Cum Laude, the CALI award and the American Bankruptcy Institute's Medal of Excellence for contributions to the field of bankruptcy. However, our attorneys are not selected solely based on their legal understanding and accomplishments, but for their passion, integrity and respect for all.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

Lincoln Law is a leader of the bankruptcy industry, developing programs and tools that have been widespread by the US legal community. Lincoln Law is an active contributor to the by-invitation-only American Consumer Bankruptcy College and member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. Since opening our doors in 2001, we have helped thousands of families become debt-free. We operate out of two states and have also opened a litigation office among other services to specifically help our bankruptcy clients that are suffering from legal and financial issues outside of the normal scope of bankruptcy.

Andrew S Gustafon

Andrew is the founder of Lincoln Law. He attended U.C. Berkeley School of Law, and received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University where he graduated magna cum laude. Andrew was the founder and president of the BYU Speech and Debate Club. His interests are consumer rights law and software development.

Andrew T. Curtis

Andrew obtained his J.D. from the Oklahoma City University School of Law, where he won a CALI award for achieving the highest score in his consumer bankruptcy class. He also received the American Bankruptcy Institute's Medal of Excellence for his outstanding contribution to the field of bankruptcy. Prior to going to law school, Andrew worked at Lincoln Law as a paralegal, which is where he discovered his ability and interest for untangling legal and financial issues.

Tessa M. Santiago

Tessa, a native of South Africa, graduated from Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School with honors in 2001. She specialized in nationwide plaintiffs class action work and Federal False Claims Act cases. Unlike our other attorneys, Tessa is not a bankruptcy attorney - she handles creditor harassment and other litigation cases for our bankruptcy clients - often going after some of the biggest creditors in the nation. She also taught legal writing and oral advocacy at the J. Reuben Clark Law School. She's also a published author, an avid gardener, and a licensed soccer coach.

Carl R. Gustafson

In 2003, Carl graduated from UCLA Magna Cum Laude and began to work in bankruptcy. Later he became a legal intern for Global Justice in 2005, where he drafted sections of human rights situation reports and submitted them to the United Nations and other international bodies. Carl graduated from Berkeley School of Law with honors in 2007 and has been practicing bankruptcy fervently ever since, becoming a recognized industry leader in his area.
