What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Clients must be informed and able to make their own decisions. They are the captain of their litigation ship. As attorneys, we are merely your loyal crew. This is your life, and you need all possible information to make the best choices for yourself or your family.

Are your attorneys willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Absolutely.

Are your attorneys willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Not everyone can afford trial counsel. We try to fill an important need to prepare parties who must represent themselves in court. This especially applies in family law cases where 90% of the case is won or lost on the written pleadings, long before that day in court arrives.

Are your attorneys willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

Yes, this is called a limited scope representation, and we do this for some cases.

What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

Legal services are expensive. No two ways about it. The cost efficiency is a matter of big importance. We work to minimize costs not only by dividing work within staff but also by encouraging email communications which take a fraction of the time required for phone or meetings.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

Frankly, not much. Every case that could settle this way should consider doing so. Our cases tend to have parties with intractable positions, and here a judge is needed.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

Our pro bono services are contributed directly to the court or to nonprofit agencies.
