Generally speaking, there are two (2) separate cases for the accused person to defend: 1.) the criminal charge or ordinance violation; and, 2.) the case related to your driving privileges. The law and procedure for defending these matters varies greatly between the states, counties, and cities. As such, your DWI – DUI lawyer should be versed in the law and procedure for the jurisdiction and venue where your cases are pending. Although the accused may have plenty of time to interview and hire counsel for representation in the criminal or ordinance violation case, there are strict and relatively short time limits in which to deal with your case related to your driving privileges. We will meet with you as soon as possible after the arrest and do our best to keep you driving in the short term while we investigate the case and try to defend your privileges for the long term.

There are many important questions that your attorney should be asking about how the arrest was conducted and how any tests to determine your alleged impairment were conducted. If you submitted to a breath test, we will be reviewing evidence to determine whether the proper protocols were followed by law enforcement in arriving at your test result. Often times, there are videos that we obtain to compare to the written reports to test the veracity of the allegations against the accused. Although every case is different, we will use our experience and the tools that we have acquired through this experience to fully investigate and defend every case.

We cannot possibly address all of the relevant concerns and questions that you have on this website. As you know, you should not believe everything you read on the Internet; especially on form websites with content provided by a huge company that sells marketing and websites DWI – DUI lawyers.
