Firm History

After practicing with two of the largest and most prestigious law firms in Atlanta and Charlotte for nearly ten years, Mr. Anderson established his own law practice in 2011.

Activities and Awards

American Bar Association; North Carolina Bar Association (Family Law Section); Mecklenburg County Bar Association (Chair - Lawyer Referral Service, Family Law Section); Pro Bono legal work for the Legal Services of Southern Piedmont Domestic Violence Prevention Program

Example Cases

We helped an out of county parent in a child custody action have their case moved from Mecklenburg county to the county of their new residence so they could more conveniently deal with the legal issues.

We have counseled several clients regarding the appropriate steps to take in the months, weeks and days leading up to a separation and eventual divorce.

Through our pro bono work, we help victims of domestic violence obtain domestic violence protection orders against their abusers.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

We encourage our clients to educate themselves on the legal issues affecting their important legal matter. We are available to help educate our clients and to help them be involved in their legal matter as much or as little as they prefer.

Are your attorneys willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Yes. However, we suggest clients speak with an attorney before preparing their own documents. It may be less expensive for an attorney to prepare the documents versus reviewing documents prepared by a client.

Are your attorneys willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Yes.

Are your attorneys willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

Yes.

What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

I am a sole practitioner and therefore will be handling the vast majority of my client's important legal matter myself. However, I do have an administrative staff available and will use them to the extent it would be cost effective to do so.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

Oftentimes, these avenues are mandated by the court and in other cases the parties choose to use these tools to resolve conflict. We believe these approaches are all effective means to settle family law matters and encourage our clients to use these tools whenever possible and appropriate.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

Yes, we provide pro bono legal work for the Legal Services of Southern Piedmont Domestic Violence Prevention Program.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

We are focused on providing quality, effective and cost efficient legal services. Additionally, we recognize the difficulty of this time in our client's lives and are committed to helping them come out on the other side in a healthy way. Finally, superior client service is our hallmark.
