Is your firm willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

There are times when that arrangement is appropriate however, this has to be reviewed on a case by case basis.

What are your policies about dividing work within the firm to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

The firm believes in utilizing paralegals and other cost-effective methods to keep a client's fees manageable; however, the attorney you meet with will always be available to you and he or she will supervise your case and will directly work on your case when necessary.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

The use of such resolution practice is not typically necessary in the matters that we handle however some litigated probate matters do utilize such dispute resolution and the attorneys at Sprague Law Firm are always open to utilizing such methods if in the best interest of the client.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

David D. Sprague is a guardian ad litem for the Macomb County Probate Court and acts as in-house counsel for the Wayne County Family Courts. The attorneys at Sprague Law Firm also work to actively educate the community on the areas of law that fall within our practice.

Personal service and the development of a long-term relationship with our clients is essential to providing quality planning. Not only do we frequently travel to meet with elderly or disabled client, as a client of Sprague Law Firm, your matter will not be passed off to an attorney you have never met. We work with you directly to make sure that you are comfortable and understand the steps we are taking to assist and protect you and your family.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

At Sprague Law Firm it is a priority to educate our clients regarding the legal issues that surround or may arise in their individual cases. We welcome and encourage clients to do their own research as well and bring that knowledge into the attorney-client relationship.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Absolutely. It is imperative that we be aware of all existing documents so that we can properly advise the client.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

No. At Sprague Law Firm, we want to ensure that individuals are adequately represented and their rights protected and experience has taught us that we need to be "all in" if we are going to be able to best assist a client with their legal needs.
