Example cases

Example #1: Client suffered soft tissue injuries to upper back and shoulders due to a rear end collision. Insurance Company initially denied liability as our client was cited for an illegal u-turn. At our client's deposition we were able to demonstrate to the attorney for the insurance company that this was incorrect and that our client was attempting to make a legal left hand turn when he was rear ended. A settlement was reached shortly thereafter. Example #2: Client suffered scars on leg from Dog Bite and a broken foot. This was a difficult case in that the Dog's Owner denied liability and had no insurance to cover the damages. We were ultimately able to settle the case with an agreement that the Dog's Owner would pay our client in three monthly installments.

Of course. All of these types of issues are discussed at our initial consultation at which time we will decide together how we can best help the client with their legal issues.

At Sammons & Carpenter, our Attorneys and staff work hand in hand on EVERY case that we accept.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

We use mediation on a case-by-case basis. For the right case, we have found that mediation can be a very cost effective way to reach a fair settlement.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

We feel it is very important to give back to our community and as such we regularly participate in community activities such as Habitat for Humanity.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

We pride ourselves on providing each of our clients with the one-on-one representation that they deserve. We also understand how important it is to our clients to be fully informed as to the status of their case. As such, we are committed to returning all phone calls within 24 hours and we copy our clients on every piece of correspondence that goes out or doors. Prior to founding Sammons & Carpenter, our attorneys also spent years defending Fortune 500 and large Insurance Companies in personal injury matters. Those years spent defending such companies has provided our Attorneys with a unique perspective in to how such companies evaluate and defend personal injury claims. We now use this perspective to maximize our client's recovery.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

We believe it is very important for clients to educate themselves regarding legal issues involved in their case and will help them in doing so in any way that we can. After all, it is their case.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Absolutely. Anything that will aid our attorneys in evaluating a client's claims is much appreciated.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Yes. At our initial consultation we will evaluate how we can best service the client for his/her legal needs.
