Firm Focus

Personal injury and wrongful death matters caused by car accidents, negligent truckers, and motorcycle accidents.

Firm History

The Roberts Law Firm was established in 1997 by Jeff Roberts to offer personalized, caring legal services to everyone.

Activities and Awards

The firm’s members are active in Big Brothers of Orange County and committed to offering pro bono legal service to those in need.

Example Cases

We recently settled a wrongful death case in Gomez vs. Xerox for $5 million dollars against Xerox Corporation for negligently retaining the employment of a service technician with two prior DUI convictions who, while driving a Xerox van, struck and killed our clients’ mother while she was in a cross-walk in Los Angeles. We settled the wrongful death of a teenage boy for $3 million from the at-fault company that failed to properly train its drivers on how to drive its delivery trucks.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

We encourage our clients to use the internet to do their own research and share with us their thoughts and concerns. We like clients who call us and ask questions, and an attorney personally answers every single client question.

Are your attorneys willing to review documents prepared by clients?

We will assist clients in reviewing their documents.

Are your attorneys willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

We often give potential clients advice on how to handle their own legal matters, particularly in small claims court.

Are your attorneys willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

Depending on our clients’ needs, The Roberts Law Firm’s attorneys are willing to assist them with their matter, whether it’s only a small part of their case, or handling the entire case.

What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

Almost all of the cases The Roberts Law Firm handles are done on a contingency basis. Therefore our clients do not need to worry about attorneys fees increasing based on who is working on their case.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

Informal Dispute Resolution is an essential tool for resolving the majority of our clients’ cases. Most clients, who have already experienced the hardship of an injury or loss of a loved one, would prefer to see a fair resolution of their claims without having to go into court and conduct a trial.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

The Roberts Law Firm’s attorneys regularly accept pro bono legal work for those persons who are in need of assistance and are otherwise unable to afford legal services.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

Our clients hire attorneys to help them, and that is what they get. When a client calls the office and asks to speak to an attorney, they are put right through to an available attorney or get a return phone call within 24 hours. The attorneys’ dedication to our clients is the same dedication to our cases, meaning we work very hard to get the best results.

Understanding Fees

Nolo's Licensing Check

Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the state agency that licenses lawyers upon joining the directory.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any state licensing agency.
