Example Cases
Information coming soon.
What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
I believe that any research performed by clients is important and encourage it, however I also advise clients to confirm with a professional that the information they learn is accurate, up-to-date and takes into account possible alternatives. One very important aspect of my work is to educate my clients on their legal alternatives and the long term implications of various options.
Are your attorneys willing to review documents prepared by clients?
I will review documents prepared by clients. However, when a document is complex, it generally is less expensive to have it prepared at the outset by a professional.
Are your attorneys willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
I do not coach clients to represent themselves in the field of intellectual property.
Are your attorneys willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?
Yes, I am willing to accept a limited engagement.
What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?
I am a sole practitioner and handle all aspects of my clients’ matters.
How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?
Mediation is attempted in all litigation. I will discuss with the client the use of arbitration because there are both benefits and detriments to this approach.
Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?
Yes, I represent the North American Butterfly Association and Active Blast Sports, Inc. as pro bono clients.
What distinguishes your law firm from others?
I am an inventor and an entrepreneur as well as an attorney. My life experiences in these aspects enable me to understand my client’s questions and problems from different angles. I pride myself on finding answers to my clients’ problems within the budget and time allotted. My experience as an attorney for a large law firm serving very large corporations has helped me to understand and apply (or predict) the tactics and strategies applied by very sophisticated companies in the field of intellectual property.
