Is your firm willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

After seeing so many people struggling in every aspect of life, I knew I had to be in a position where I could help out. I grew up in a small town and once I went to college it was clear to me that the world was so complex and every person has their own struggles.

What are your policies about dividing work within the firm to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

My work experience in many different areas of the country has given me a diverse look at the world. I also went to very large and diverse colleges which gave me a chance to interact with people from all walks of life.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

I decided to go into bankruptcy because I wanted to help people get a fresh start and be able to live their lives without so much worry. Our clients are hardworking individuals and it is heartbreaking that something as sudden as job loss or a medical illness could cause them to lose everything they have.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

The best part of my career is when clients reach the end of the process and are so relieved to have the extra weight off their back. It's a good feeling knowing that I played a part in helping people get back on their feet.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

At our office we have two attorneys, a legal assistant, and a law clerk. We are all incredibly knowledgeable and I can honestly say that I have the best staff in the world. They are all so attentive and helpful. I have seen them all go to the greatest lengths to help clients in a friendly and upbeat manner. They are able to give each client undivided attention and assistance.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

It is of the greatest importance that clients are comfortable with the entire process. As a firm we are able to explain all the complexities and would never burden our clients with trying to make sense of it all by themselves.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

We would be happy to look over any documents that clients bring in and would give advice as to how they should move forward and what their next step should be.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

We would never try to talk someone into a bankruptcy or doing something they do not feel comfortable with. We are here to make this process as painless as possible. If bankruptcy is not the right option for a client, we will help them determine what other options are available.

Ryan Moran

After graduating, I briefly worked in Illinois at the Chicago Board of Trade where I was an economic analyst for a bond-trading firm. After that, I started Moran Law Offices and have not looked back.

My work experience in many different areas of the country has given me a diverse look at the world. I also went to very large and diverse colleges which gave me a chance to interact with people from all walks of life.

I would say that my biggest strength is that I understand. I have great compassion for my clients. Because I understand exactly where my clients are coming from, I am able to help them in a personal way. It is important that I always have time for my clients and that I never make them feel like they are a burden.

Personal interests:

I love reading, basketball, exercising, and spending time with my family. A good book and good home-cooked meal is what makes me happy.
