Firm Focus

The mission of Milton Family Law, S.C. is to protect a woman’s divorce rights while helping them shape a new future. This holistic approach acknowledges that, while the legal process is extremely important, women need support both during and after divorce to rebuild their lives. At Milton Family Law, S.C., we look forward to making a positive difference in the lives of women and their families. For us, there is no mission more important.

Firm History

Milton Family Law, S.C. is a revolutionary law practice which opened in 2011.

Example Cases

We recently helped a divorcing couple with children avoid a multi-year, hundreds of thousands of dollars custody/visitation dispute with a self-constructed visitation/custody plan that was fully and completely crafted in the "best interests of the children."

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Empowerment through knowledge is an important part of our practice. The more information a woman has, the better decisions she will make for her future and the future of her family. I ensure our clients make informed decisions with an understanding all of the issues, the law and their options before entering into an agreement or before rejecting an agreement in favor of litigation.

Are your attorneys willing to review documents prepared by clients?

We see couples who have reached their own decisions about custody / visitation matters or have determined how they will divide the assets and debts in a divorce case, and have come to us to help prepare the Marital Settlement Agreement and other judgment documents.

Are your attorneys willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

We do not coach clients to represent themselves. It is best to hire an attorney for complex issues.

Are your attorneys willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

Currently, we are not accepting cases in which we work on only part of the case.

What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

At Milton Family Law, S.C., we always divide work in the manner that is most cost-effective and legally advantageous to their clients.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

At Milton Family Law, S.C., attorneys are expected to use mediation and collaborative divorce as a first resort in appropriate cases. These methods save our clients the expense of a trial. However, if a case is not able to be resolved using mediation or collaboration, we are very comfortable litigating cases.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

Our firm always has an open pro bono case as it is our priority to empower individuals through service and equipping them with information.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

If you are considering a divorce, and want to maintain the integrity of your family in the process, we are here to assist you. Milton Family Law, S.C. is a holistic family law firm located in both Brookfield and Madison, and serving the surrounding areas. It is also the first law firm designed to exclusively meet the needs of women.
