Firm Focus
We are a litigation, trial and appellate firm handling marital and family law matters. We represent clients in matters of divorce, alimony, child support, child visitation and other issues related to the dissolution of marriage.
Firm History
Our firm was founded in May 2004 as a one lawyer firm. We now employ four lawyers.
Activities and Awards
Florida Bar Association; Jacksonville Bar Association; Family Law Inn of Court; Service on Florida Bar committees; Board of Governors, YLD, Jacksonville Bar Association.
Example Cases
We represented a fifty year-old woman divorcing her husband after a long-term marriage. Together, the couple had amassed substantial wealth, yet the husband denied their assets in an effort to shield them from his wife. Through the use of forensic accountants and other experts, we were able to find and prove the existence and value of the assets, and establish substantial alimony and support for our client prior to trial.
What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
We encourage clients to learn as much as they can; however, no amount of lay research can substitute for the knowledge and training of an experienced lawyer.
Are your attorneys willing to review documents prepared by clients?
Yes.
Are your attorneys willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
Yes.
Are your attorneys willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?
Yes, but our decision to do so will be based on the circumstances of the particular case.
What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?
When possible, we delegate work to associates, paralegals and staff to reduce client costs.
How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?
Very often. In fact, family law judges require mediation prior to trial in an effort to encourage the parties to resolve their issues without court intervention.
Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?
Yes.
What distinguishes your law firm from others?
Our trial skills and our service to clients.
