What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
I believe that clients should be informed and educated regarding the legal issues being handled. It is important that clients understand the process so that they feel more in control of what is happening with their case. It is my job to explain fully to clients the process and procedure in every case so that they fully understand the options they are being presented with.
Are your attorneys willing to review documents prepared by clients?
Attorneys will review documents prepared by clients.
Are your attorneys willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
It depends on the type of legal matter. In certain types of matters that are relatively simple this is permissible. In other types of matters; however, this is not advisable and in those circumstances I clearly explain to the client why I think it is best to have an attorney's assistance. Furthermore Social Security pays my fees directly and I only get paid if the client wins the case and since it is a complex 5 step process I always recommend having an Attorney.
Are your attorneys willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?
It depends on the type of case. If it is possible to separate out a particular piece of the matter, then we will establish a relationship for that discrete portion of the case.
What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?
I work closely with my paralegals who assists me in handling routine tasks in order to reduce costs for clients. I also advise clients to contact my paralegal whenever appropriate.
How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?
Frequently, but it depends on the client's need. Our firm uses these processes if it will benefit our clients and help them with costs.
Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?
Yes, I have also spoken to aspiring Attorneys at Temple University and I actively participate as a judge for the Moot Court Honor Society of Widener University School of Law litigation competition pro bono. Also I am a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, Chester County Bar Association, Arbitration for Chester County Court of Common Pleas and Women in the Profession, Malvern Business Association.
