Free Initial Consultation?

Our office offers a free 30 minute consultation for most legal matters. If clients wish to meet to discuss a case more in depth, the attorney's typical hourly rate will apply. Any fees for in depth consultations are discussed with clients in advance.

Services Offered For Fixed Fees?

Most matters are handled on an hourly basis. Certain types of matters are handled on a flat fee basis. All fees are discussed with clients in advance. A discount on legal services is available to new clients who indicate they were referred through Nolo.

Is your firm willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

It depends on the type of case. If it is possible to separate out a particular piece of the matter, then we will establish a relationship for that discrete portion of the case.

What are your policies about dividing work within the firm to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

I work closely with my paralegal who assists me in handling routine tasks in order to reduce costs for clients. I also advise clients to contact my paralegal whenever appropriate.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

I participate in the Access to Justice program in Chester County which provides low cost or free legal services to individuals who do not otherwise qualify for Legal Aid. I also participate in the Montgomery Child Advocacy program which is a volunteer program providing free legal representation to abused children in Montgomery County.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

At the Law Offices of Fredericks and Teare, we care about our clients. Our attorneys take the time to listen to our clients' concerns and address them by clearly explaining the legal process and procedure. Our attorneys are accessible and personable and truly care about the outcome of each case for the client.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I believe that clients should be informed and educated regarding the legal issues being handled. It is important that clients understand the process so that they feel more in control of what is happening with their case. It is my job to explain fully to clients the process and procedure in every case so that they fully understand the options they are being presented with.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Attorneys will review documents prepared by clients.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

It depends on the type of legal matter. In certain types of matters, such as initial custody or support proceedings, clients may be able to appear pro se and I am willing to assist clients and prepare them appropriately. In certain types of matters; however, this is not advisable and in those circumstances I clearly explain to the client why I think it is best to have an attorney's assistance.
