He is a trial attorney with over 29 years of litigation experience handling both civil and criminal matters in New York State. Mr. Marquez is assisted by two associate attorneys, paralegals and administrative staff, some of who also speak Spanish. How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

The Firm's practice areas are determined by the experience and knowledge possessed in particular areas of law by the firm's founder, R. David Marquez. Additionally, associate attorneys who have studied and obtained experience in a particular area of law are given the opportunity to undertake cases in which they can further their knowledge and experience.

What experience or education distinguishes your lawyers from others

The attorneys at the Firm are dedicated to achieving the best results for the Firm's clients. They have demonstrated that they are willing to put the client's interests before their own personal interests and ambitions. Many attorneys have voluntarily performed a month long pro bono internship as a condition of employment to show their deep desire to work for the Firm. Other attorneys have engaged in pro bono legal services sponsored either by a local bar association or law school. All attorneys have demonstrated a genuine interest in helping people who are unable to help themselves.

R David Marquez

I began my litigation career in a small general practice law firm based in Brentwood, Long Island in the early 1980's focusing on residential real estate transactions, criminal defense and some matrimonial work. Thereafter, I went on to become an associate attorney at a large medical malpractice defense firm in Manhattan where I participated in the medical malpractice defense of hospitals located in New York State. I also participated in a commercial real estate transaction involving the acquisition of a hotel property in Florida while at the same firm. I subsequently, began practicing on my own and then worked at a NYC plaintiff's personal injury law firm trying cases. I went on to serve as trial counsel to several other firms before establishing R. David Marquez, P.C. in the mid 1990's. I have since tried civil, criminal, tax and bankruptcy cases in both state and federal courts. I currently focus my attention on helping home owners stay in their homes by defending against residential foreclosure in addition to serving as trial counsel in other types of actions.

Ayanna Watson

Ayanna Watson was born and raised on Long Island, New York. She received an undergraduate degree in Finance from Brooklyn College. Ayanna graduated from Drake University with her Masters in Business Administration and Juris Doctor degrees. Prior to joining the Law Firm of R. David Marquez, P.C., Ayanna's focus was primarily that of drafting and reviewing of contracts and criminal law.

Prior to her impressive eduational achievements, Ayanna served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 2002-2010, where she worked as a chemical operations specialist.

Ayanna is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association, Bronx Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

Ayanna loves to run and is currently training to compete in a local marathon.

Michelle K. Ng

Michelle is a UCLA Law School graduate admitted to the practice law in the state of New York in March 2013. She joined the firm in December of 2012 and focuses on defending homeowners facing residential mortgage foreclosures. Michelle is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. She is a dedicated advocate who represents her client's interests with
sharp professional skills and tenacity.
