Example Cases

Information coming soon.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I try to give clients as much information as possible about how the law relates to the issues in their cases. I am not opposed to anyone representing themselves in bankruptcy, but most people are better served by hiring an attorney.

Are your attorneys willing to review documents prepared by clients?

No. Clients must fill out our forms in order for the process to work smoothly for them and us. We prepare all documents based on what the clients have filled out and documents they have provided.

Are your attorneys willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Yes, for an hourly fee. Some people can successfully navigate the bankruptcy process themselves, but most need an attorney in order to be successful. If I see that someone is not filling out forms correctly or has other serious issues, I recommend hiring someone, even if it is not us.

Are your attorneys willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

Yes, for an hourly fee.

What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

I meet with all clients initially for about an hour. My office manager prepares the bankruptcy petitions under my direction. I am always available to answer client questions, and I represent clients at the Meeting of Creditors.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

Never. This is not generally applicable to consumer bankruptcy.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

No.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

I was a trucker before becoming an attorney, so I can relate to what average people have to deal with. I am also very aggressive in protecting my clients from creditors who violate the Bankruptcy Code in a way that harms my clients.

Nolo's Licensing Check

Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the state agency that licenses lawyers upon joining the directory.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any state licensing agency.
