What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Nolo publications and your local law library are tops in assisting people with little or no legal background, and people should always want to know their constitutional rights and their rights with regard to access to the Courts in all legal areas. When people simply don't have time to read all of the fine print, keep up with Supreme Court or Court of Appeals cases that are constantly interpreting their laws, or to prepare and file the seemingly voluminous amount of paper required by courts, those of us who have the privilege of practicing in the legal profession have a duty to be approachable, available and affordable in our communities.

Are your attorneys willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Case-by-case basis; we are happy to give you an appropriate amount of time in an initial telephone call or e-mail.

Are your attorneys willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Only within ethical boundaries.

Are your attorneys willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

Case-by-case basis

What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

The client pays once for the task at hand; clearly defined in our written attorney-client fee agreement.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

Those avenues are always considered.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

As much as possible.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

As much as possible, in an initial telephone call or e-mail, only an attorney will personally respond.
