Firm Focus
I practice exclusively in the areas of Social Security Disability, Adult SSI and child SSI.
Firm History
I opened my own law office in 2001. From 1985 until 2001 I worked for other firms, but I have always handled Social Security cases.
Activities and Awards
American Jurisprudence award in Criminal Procedure.
Example Cases
I've been successful in getting hundreds of people their Social Security Disability benefits for many types of physical and mental conditions. Here are some examples: anxiety, bipolar, COPD, closed head injury, depression, lupus, MS, spinal injuries, stroke, thoracic out let syndrome... any many other impairments. I've also represented many disabled children in child SSI cases.
What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
I have educational materials on my website including a video FAQ library. Social Security also has an excellent website. I believe that Social Security claimants fare better when they are represented by an experienced attorney.
Are your attorneys willing to review documents prepared by clients?
The question is unclear. Sure, I would review them but I usually like to word things a certain way in a Social Security case.
Are your attorneys willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
I don't think that this would be wise in the area of Social Security Disability.
Are your attorneys willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?
Again, this question is unclear. In the area of Social Security I don't know what "one discrete part" would be. It depends on the situation.
What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?
In most cases the fee is 25 percent of the past-due benefits. I usually don't charge on an hourly basis.
How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?
These methods don't apply in Social Security cases.
Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?
I've supported the Boys & Girls Clubs, Toys for Tots and other charities. I direct the Christian Education program at my church.
What distinguishes your law firm from others?
My slogan is "Taking Your Case Personally." You will get my personal attention from start to finish.
