What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

We believe clients should learn as much about their legal issues as they can, through the proper channels. As attorneys, an essential part of our job is to help anyone who comes to us learn about the area of law that affects their case. Educational articles and videos — written and spoken in "plain English" - are readily available through Kramer Law Firm websites. Law is very complex and confusing to most people, and without proper counsel, many people in need of help will never know all of the legal options and protections that are available to them. Only a lawyer knows how to apply the law properly. Our law firm offers guidance that is clear, understandable, and immediately helpful to our clients.

Are your attorneys willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Yes, we are always willing to review and discuss documents prepared by clients.

Are your attorneys willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

It depends upon the situation. There may be times when it is not necessary for an attorney to be directly involved in a case. Only when it is appropriate, are we willing to coach clients in their own representation. We advise our clients on the benefits and damaging consequences involved in representing themselves.

Are your attorneys willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Legal matters are often comprised of stages and compound issues that intertwine with each other. A focused, comprehensive strategy may be the better course of action for many cases.

What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

We have team model. The senior attorneys, paralegals, attorneys and staff all work together to achieve the best result in every case. The diverse talents and knowledge of our attorneys give us a unique perspective on legal issues, enabling us to anticipate challenges and seize opportunities for our clients. By dividing responsibilities, we also are able to offer cost efficient representation. Clients should never be concerned that their case will be passed on to a caseworker or junior attorney - we truly are a team.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

Almost always - depending on the goals of the client. Our attorneys are effective negotiators and mediators. Mediation is an excellent way for clients to control the outcome of a case and to minimize costs of litigating a case.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

Yes. Founding attorney Steven Kramer believes that he owes his success to the contribution of others in his life. Therefore, the Kramer Law Firm has and always will give back to the community.
In 2011, Steven Kramer was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court to his Pro-Bono Advisory Committee. He has served as Director for the Seminole County Legal Aid Society since 2009 and served as its President from 2010-2011. In 2010, Mr. Kramer was recognized by the Florida Supreme Court for his Pro-Bono Service and received the Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award. He also received The Distinguished Pro Bono Award from the Seminole County Legal Aid Society in 2009, the Service Award from the Brevard County Bar Association in 2010, the President's Award from the Seminole County Legal Aid Society in 2010, and the Distinguished Pro-Bono Service Award for his representation of indigent foreclosure defendants in 2009 from the Seminole County Legal Aid Society.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

We focus on giving every client the best possible experience with a lawyer, from the first moment that our staff picks up the phone to the conclusion of the case. Every client should feel like they are our most important client. Our lobby is inviting and warm. Our staff is friendly. Our attorneys are approachable and easy to talk to. We believe that excellent communication is the cornerstone of building client trust and the successful resolution of a client's case. The people we serve know that our team is ready to go to bat for them. We always work our hardest to achieve the best possible result for our clients. It is our hope that each person we serve will stick with the Kramer Law Firm for life.

Nolo's Licensing Check

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any state licensing agency.
