I recently won a case against for a tenant who was seeking rent abatement for substandard conditions in her apartment. I have also prevailed in many criminal and traffic cases by mitigating punishment or obtaining outright dismissals.

I believe that clients should play an active role in their case and become involved with the legal process.

I am willing to review documents prepared by clients.

If I think that the client can adequately represent himself or herself, I will discuss the case with them. Most often, however, I will strongly advise them to retain an attorney unless the matter is relatively simple.

No, I either take on the whole case or none of it.
What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?
I am the only attorney at my firm and I personally handle each client's case.

I believe that mediation is an excellent means to reach a resolution and encourage my clients to attempt to resolve their issues through mediation before invoking the court system.

I provide pro bono services through Legal Aid of North Carolina.
