Firm Focus

Our firm was established in January of 2010 and is not simply a bankruptcy law firm, but rather a debt relief assistance firm. While we provide zealous representation of persons seeking relief under U.S. bankruptcy laws, we also provide legal assistance to persons whose debt problems (if properly resolved) will allow them to avoid having to file for bankruptcy. To be more specific, when a client's current mortgage is causing them to overly rely on credit cards to meet their monthly expenses, we assist our clients through the mortgage modification process in hopes that a reduced mortgage payment will allow them to pay down credit card debt and avoid bankruptcy. Moreover, when a client has a few outstanding debts (weather due to a lawsuit judgment or over reliance on credit card debt) which are the only major stains on their credit report, we negotiate a reduced settlement amount (i.e., a debt settlement) which our clients can pay off and thus protect their credit rating.

Firm History

Prior to starting Dillenbeck Law I was a summer associate with Fuller-McKay, the largest filing bankruptcy firm in the state of Georgia.

Example Cases

Due to client-attorney confidentiality, Dillenbeck Law does not share information about the cases we handle. For more information about our firm, please visit www.charlottencdwi.com.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Increasing your knowledge on any issue affecting your life is a good idea. However, anyone can put up a webpage, thus there's no way of knowing if the information your reading is correct. Even if the information is correct, there may be other aspects of a legal issue that a website doesn't address and that you may not have thought about (i.e., unthought-of side effects of using a particular legal route, unexplored or unknown alternatives). As such one of the advantages of speaking with a lawyer is that some of these unexplored alternatives or unthought-of side effects may be revealed to you.

Are your attorneys willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I have no objection to reviewing documents prepared by clients.

Are your attorneys willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Not applicable.

Are your attorneys willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

Growing up I always knew I wanted to be in a profession where I could help people. I decided to become a lawyer because I could utilize the law to bring direct, immediate benefits to people's lives.

What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

I came from a household where my parents placed two values above all others: hard work and honesty. You often hear complaints about attorneys not being completely forthright with their clients. Although clients might always like what I have to say, they cannot ever say that I wasn't honest with them.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

I chose to become a debt relief lawyer because it gives me the opportunity to help save people's homes and gets them out from underneath an insurmountable level of debt.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

I like the fact that every day presents the possibility of bringing direct, immediate help to people in need.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

Although I am a solo practitioner, I have a paralegal who works for me full time. We're both diligent about returning phone calls and answering questions.
