What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Clients are always encouraged to educate themselves on legal issues. Often times, a client who has made an effort to investigate their own legal circumstances can save money in complex litigation.

Are your attorneys willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Yes.

Are your attorneys willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

In active litigation, no. We are always available to offer general advice and guidance to clients who want to pursue matters on their own, however, we cannot take a secondary role in legal proceedings.

Are your attorneys willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

In certain situations, yes. However, we are unable to represent clients in active litigation without taking on the whole case.

What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

Our small firm structure allows us significant flexibility in finding a fee arrangement that works within a variety of budgets.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

Our attorneys discuss alternative dispute resolution options with all of our clients.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

Yes. All of the attorneys at Cannon, Mihill and Winkles are active in the community and provide pro bono services on occasion.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

Our law firm is built around the principles of honesty and communication. Our commitment to honesty and straightforward communication starts with your first call to our office. If we aren't the best attorneys for your situation, we'll tell you. If we feel our services are going to cost you more than help you, we'll tell you.
