Firm Focus

I provide my clients with effective, personalized service and representation. I do my best to be sensitive to each client’s emotional, financial, and legal needs.

Firm History

I have been serving Nassau County and surrounding areas from my office in Mineola since 1986. My experience includes representing New York City’s poor in actions to obtain better housing, health care, and food for deprived families. As an associate with a firm representing New York City police officers, I defended the rights of officers in Federal and State courts. I have argued appeals not only before the Appellate Division in the First and Second Department but also in New York’s highest court, the Court of Appeals.

Example Cases

•Proved that a dead-beat dad could not deny he was the father of a little girl and that he had to support her.
•Proved that a father who had custody of his sons had not abused them but was providing loving care. Upheld on appeal.
•Negotiated reasonable settlements in what would have been contested divorce actions.
•Represented a woman from Oklahoma whose son was kidnapped by his father and brought to New York.
•Obtained $50,000.00 judgment after trial from a contractor who would not pay his subcontractor.
•Obtained a dismissal in a case where a man was accused of hiring someone to threaten to kill his child's mother.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Clients should familiarize themselves with the issues in their case and with the elements of proof. They must realize, however, that every case is different, and something that happened in another case may not apply to their case. Clients who understand the issues are better able to help their attorneys help them.

Are your attorneys willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am always happy to review documents if they will help me help my client.

Are your attorneys willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I will evaluate my client’s case and discuss it with him/her so we can decide how I can help.

Are your attorneys willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

All parts of a case interact with each other. I can serve my client better if I take on the whole case.

What are your policies about dividing work among the firm's partners, associates, and paralegals to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

Information coming soon.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

Information coming soon.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

I am on the reduced fee panel of the county bar association.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

I have appeared in more different kinds of courts in more counties, on a state and federal level, than almost any other lawyer I know. I hope that helps make me a better attorney, better able to help my clients.
