Yes, initial consultations are free, and there is no time restriction for that initial consultation. Our initial consultations are done over the phone, and then the attorney will make the determination on whether to schedule an appointment in person to discuss the matter further.

Services Offered For Fixed Fees?

While hiring a lawyer can be a huge financial burden for clients and their families, our clients recognize the benefits of retaining an attorney who offers outstanding and zealous representation in every single case. Many of our cases like auto accidents and medical malpractice are handled on a contingency fee basis, and the firm will advance costs in appropriate cases in order to ensure that our clients are not denied their day in court. For criminal matters we have fixed fees, but they vary depending on the charges.

We often use mediation, arbitration or collaborative law to resolve a case. Our goal is always to practice law with an eye toward the pragmatic, finding a way to resolve the case rather than becoming mired in legal posturing. We want the best possible results for our clients, and are often successful in achieving those results through a collaborative method.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

As lawyers, we are given a great opportunity to stand for the rule of law, the constitution, and, most importantly, for justice. We assist our clients in evaluating and interpreting the legal issues they face, and try to assume the burden of navigating a sometimes complex legal situation. Our goal is for our clients to have comfort in knowing someone is fighting for them and is on their side.

In 1998 Sam Bregman founded The Bregman Law Firm, P.C. in Albuquerque, New Mexico as a way to fill a niche in the community.
