Recent cases included a Chapter 13 client with an ice cream parlor and huge debt; we saved the store and client's home, as well as his dignity, leaving him with an affordable monthly payment. In one divorce case we helped our client retain the family business and home after a fierce contest, and in another in the past few months our client kept his two children, their family home, and the majority of his retirement plan.

Yes, please submit your request. We have a variety of language capabilities.
We provide limited scope representation in cases where our participation will benefit the client.
Our goal is to have work done for our clients by staff at the appropriate level; while our attorneys handle much of the work on each case, our staff of paralegals and our administrative assistant all work on projects to both minimize costs to the client and most effectively allocate attorney time.
Yes we do mediation, and we try to settle cases through direct discussions early on whenever appropriate. We generally do not recommend arbitration, but will assist if you are necessarily involved in arbitration. While we can and do take cases through trial as necessary, it is most often in the client's best interest to settle a case without the expense, time and emotional turmoil of a trial. We routinely encourage our clients to participate in alternative dispute resolution opportunities, including mediation and court-supervised settlement conferences. In some areas, such as family law (including divorce, support and custody issues) some form of mediation or settlement generally results in outcomes much better for our clients than that which may be imposed by a judge after months of litigation, days or weeks of trial, and tens of thousands of dollars in costs and fees.
All of our attorneys dedicate part of their time to pro bono work each month.
While we pride ourselves on the quality of our legal work, the skill, training and experience of our attorneys, and our tenacity in obtaining the best possible result for our clients, we also take pride is in our relationships with our clients and the attention we are willing to pay to them. Our clients are real people going through real and often life-altering challenges, and we know that legal crises and the need for information to inform action, the need at times to calm nerves, or the need at times to help with a client's concerns do not keep office hours.
One of our goals is to provide the best legal services for the best price. We welcome clients learning more about the issues they bring in the belief that this can help them both understand issues and effectively participate in their own case.
Documents prepared by clients often serve as a basis for documents we produce; there are also rare instances where we are able to use forms, such as disclosures in divorce proceedings, which are at times entirely prepared by clients, reviewed by our attorneys, and filed with little or no editing by us if the client is thorough. This is generally limited to documents which reflect information best provided by the client. We encourage active participation by the client, with the caveat that we need to do our work to facilitate the best outcome for the client and assure compliance with court rules.
While we do not encourage this practice, we do on occasions assist clients as consulting attorneys where they were qualified and capable of representing their own interests in matters.
