I've concentrated my practice on Estate Planning, Probate, Conservatorships and Guardianships because these are the areas I felt I could do the most good. I've been able to assist people of all ages and from all walks of life and it has been extremely rewarding for me both professionally and personally. At the end of the day, I'm just passionate about helping people and these practice areas allow me to do that.
I have made a conscious choice to take only uncontested Estate Planning, Probate, Conservatorship and Guardianship cases, but prior to that decision, I practiced trust and estate litigation. Having seen the problems and issues that can occur on the back end of the estate planning process after a person has passed away, it has given me valuable insight into and a different perspective on how to avoid planning pitfalls that could lead to costly litigation for clients in the future. It is heartbreaking to see a family torn apart emotionally and financially because of poor planning or misunderstandings that could have been addressed early in the planning stages.
There are many wonderful and talented attorneys here in Hawaii, especially in the areas I practice. I take great pride in the level of service I provide and going above and beyond for my client. My clients have direct access to me and I make it a point to respond to emails and return calls promptly. I take full advantage of the freedom I have as a solo practitioner to maintain a flexible schedule and have no qualms about meeting in the evenings and/or weekends. I also have elderly clients who may not have the desire to or are not capable of coming into downtown Honolulu, so I meet them in their homes. Above all, I believe my clients recognize and appreciate that I truly care about them as people and I try my best to show them through being accommodating, giving them personalized attention and furnishing them with superior work product.
