Mr. Clapp began his law career in 2006 as a trial lawyer working for the Fulton County Public Defender's Office. He began to specialize in bankruptcy law in 2008, when he moved to King & King, one of the largest bankruptcy firms in the Atlanta area. After becoming lead attorney at King & King, he worked at Aldridge Connors LLP, where he worked on bankruptcy and real estate related litigation.
In 2012, Mr. Clapp founded CMC Law, a boutique law practice specializing in complex consumer bankruptcy and bankruptcy litigation.
While at King & King, Mr. Clapp was at the forefront of the mortgage lien strip movement, where he helping hundreds of clients to reduce the amount of money they owed on their homes. He was lead attorney in several cases of first impression in the Northern District of Georgia, including cases involving redemption in Chapter 7, HOA liens in Chapter 13, and plaintiff actions against self-help creditors.
Mr. Clapp's primary goal, and the fundamental mission of CMC Law, is to help individuals, families, and small businesses suffering from financial difficulties.
