Danny Vega

Danny Vega has been practicing law for 10 years with Chappell, Smith & Arden. During that time he has represented hundreds of individuals needing help with work related injuries and disability benefits. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, American Association for Justice (formerly Association of Trial Lawyers of America), Injured Worker's Advocates, Workers' Injury Law Advocacy Group, and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives. He is a past board member and treasurer of South Carolina Legal Services, Hispanic Leadership Council and the Brain Injury Alliance. Danny graduated from The Citadel and Regent University School of Law.

When asked why he represents injured individuals he will tell you: "The government and corporations can pay attorneys money to lobby representatives for benefits. When I go to court it is just me and my client. Although I represent many people, I work for one individual at a time to get them the benefits they deserve. I like helping people."

W. Hugh McAngus, Jr

Hugh McAngus graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina in 2001. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina in 2006, where he was a member of the South Carolina Law Review, Order of Wig and Robe, and Order of the Coif.

Hugh practices with Chappell, Smith & Arden's litigation team, focusing his practice on trucking litigation, motor vehicle wrecks, products liability, and other personal injury matters.

Hugh is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in South Carolina and all state courts in North Carolina and the United States North Carolina District Court, Western Division. He is member of the South Carolina Association for Justice, American Association for Justice, Attorneys Information Exchange Group, AAJ's Trucking Litigation and Nursing Home Litigation Groups, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, and the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America.

Jacob Born

Jacob Born is part of Chappell, Smith & Arden's litigation team. His practice focuses on motor vehicle accidents, trucking, products liability, and nursing home litigation. Jacob began working with the Chappell, Smith & Arden in 2005, and joined the firm as an attorney in 2011.

Jacob earned his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina in 2006 and his law degree from the Charleston School of Law in 2011.

Jacob is licensed to practice law in South Carolina and Georgia. He is also a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the Richland County Bar Association, The South Carolina Association for Justice, and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.

Jacob is also a childhood cancer survivor and an eagle scout.
