Attorney William P. Burns, Jr., a family law, men's rights and fathers' rights attorney in Connecticut founded this law firm in 2006 as an instrument of justice for men. He believed that males have been treated poorly in family law matters for decades. This should not be the case. He continues to work hard toward the fair resolution his clients deserve.

He chose men's rights as his practice area because he believed that men and woman should have equal rights in family law cases. Bartlett Burns, LLC works to protect its clients' interests during discussions of divorce, parental relocation and child support.

Drawing on his experience practicing law in larger law firms, Attorney Burns found that large law firms can be impersonal, causing a client to feel like a number, rather than a person. He founded this firm to be the kind of lawyer who communicates one-on-one with his clients, offering attentive personal service that gives them peace of mind.

In 2012, Attorney Frank C. Bartlett, Jr. joined the firm to expand the firm's practice areas to include personal injury. Attorney Bartlett brought a strong background of practicing personal injury and insurance defense to the firm. In his prior position at a law firm that focused on insurance defense work, Attorney Bartlett learned first hand what practices and procedures are utilized by insurance companies and their attorneys to defend personal injury claims as well as the negotiating strategies they employ to try to minimize settlements. Attorney Bartlett uses this knowledge to level the playing field for his clients.

Attorney Bartlett has represented personal injury victims in front of all Connecticut Courts and has successfully defended appeals to the Connecticut Appellate and Supreme Court. He has further represented victims in front of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He has successfully negotiated favorable settlements for victims who have been injured in car accidents and slip and falls as well as those who have been injured by defective products and have been subject to medical and legal malpractice.

Attorney Bartlett is most proud of the work he has done on behalf of victims of childhood sexual abuse. He has represented victims of abuse at the hands of community organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America, medical professionals, caregivers and other family members. He advocates for those who are unable to advocate for themselves thereby giving victims a voice.
