The Owens Law Firm, P.A. was formed in 2003 with the specific goal of protecting the people of Florida.

Our firm is focused on preventing financial disaster throughout the state of Florida. We combine specific legal defenses with a program designed to protect assets and repair credit.

Example cases

Client had a first mortgage of $120,000, a second for $82,000 and credit card debt over $15,000. Because the value of her home had shrunk to below the $120,000 first mortgage we were able to strip off the second mortgage and almost completely eliminate her credit card debt.

Our client was receiving multiple phone calls from debt collectors on a daily basis. We informed our client of his rights and also put the debt collectors on notice that we represented this person and demanded they cease communications. While most did in fact stop the harassing phone calls, 2 major credit card companies ignored our warning and we were able to bring a lawsuit against these companies which stopped the calls and also put some money in our client's pocket.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

I chose to help people fight back against the big banks and debt collectors after seeing hundreds of people trying to make payments and do the right thing only to be ignored or taken advantage of by these companies.

We encourage clients to educate themselves on all areas of law that pertain to their situation. We assist them with access to our website as well as a detailed explanation of their rights from the initial consultation throughout the entire process.

We do not coach clients who want to represent themselves. However, we do offer a free consultation for anyone that has legal questions about bankruptcy, foreclosure defense, or creditor harassment.
