What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

The Law Offices of Thomas Wallin believe every client should be kept fully informed of their case from start to finish. We offer every current client a book/guide regarding DUI information and defenses as well as strive to ensure that each and every case is handled like it was one of our own.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

The Law Offices of Thomas Wallin reviews any and all documents provided by current lients as well as provide each new client with a 60 question questionnaire so that we have all the details of their case and we file motions only if we feel it is appropriate for a specific case. We work with each client individually to make sure their needs are met.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

We never suggest a client represent themselves in a DUI case. DUI is one of the most complicated areas of law that involves criminal law, science and DMV procedures. The Law Offices of Thomas Wallin feels we provide the best value in legal services for DUI cases of any DUI firm in Southern California.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I decided to become a lawyer because I wanted the opportunity to defend those that needed help and could not get a fair trial. I had a great experience at the public defenders office but wanted to focus on DUI so I opened my own practice. I enjoy the complexity of a DUI case and how each and every case is unique.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

My experience in my first year as a lawyer in handling medical mal practice claims gave met he scientific background that is unique to most DUI attorneys. Also, my ability to work with local district attorneys and judges while obtaining a great result for my client, provides me a deep satisfaction.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

The complexity of a DUI case with both the DMV and criminal aspect as well as the science that is involved is the main reason that I chose to focus my primary practice in DUI defense. Over the years, I've seen police officers routinely exaggerate and lie regarding DUI arrest; this motivates me as it allows me the chance to "call them out" and get the bad cops off the streets.

What do you like best about your career?

The thing that I like the best about my career is the ability to help others and literally change lives. The Law Offices of Thomas Wallin not only wants to obtain the best possible result for the clients but also wants to ensure our clients will not get into trouble again by getting clients, when necessary, the help that they need to stop drinking.

Tell us about your law firm:

I believe having the best office possible in representing someone with a DUI is key. I have paralegals in my office that have nearly a decade of experience in dealing with courts, DMV and clients which sets us apart. Our staff routinely gets calls from other "so called" DUI law firms asking for advice in their own cases. Our associate attorneys are directly supervised and personally handle each and every case.

What are your strengths and style?

The Law Offices of Thomas Wallin prides itself on the ability to work with the DMV and court system to provide the best results for our clients. Because of this, we have earned a great reputation with local judges and district attorneys throughout Southern California. We leave no stone unturned in the defense of our clients.

Personal Interests:

Besides the law, I enjoy reading, mountain bike riding, motocross, golf (when I have the time!). I also participate in raising money and awareness for nursing home abuse prevention.
